Honor Your Feelings

We live in a world, which is primarily focused on performance, results, and appearance - none of which has anything to do with our emotional experience. Although our emotional experience is not only one of the most important aspects of our lives but is what drives much of what we do and accomplish in life.

How does taking some time and reconnecting with your emotions sound?

Honoring our feelings isn’t about being self-absorbed or arrogant - it’s about how we feel and that we are willing to reconnect with our inner self.

Give yourself permission to feel all your emotions without judgment and self-criticism. At the deepest level, all human emotions have value and can benefit us if we're willing to feel them in an authentic and healthy way.

Welcome them, acknowledge them, feel them and let them go.

Ask yourself:

  • How do I feel right now?

  • Why do I feel this way?

  • How that makes my body feel?

  • How does it make me act?

Making it a practice to get in touch with our true feelings is essential. A great way to do this is through journaling. It's not about justifying how we feel to anyone else, it's about being honest with ourselves.

So today, I challenge you to take just a short moment for yourself and honor your feelings. Just allow yourself to be real and to honor what's true for you at that moment.
